hi. LONG POST AHEAD. gnna place some highlights of my trip in a different colour so u will not be tortured reading my post. haha. anyway, yes. im back. mixed feelings right now. miss quite a few ppl/things in singapore. but i miss the weather there. it's summer there. super hot in Johannesburg with the sun scorching hot at like what 34 degrees. luckily i brought shorts. but in cape town, we were near the coasts. so we had loads of sea breeze which made it colder. it was about 19-22 degrees there. aircon lor. yea. there are things about both cities that i like. in cape town, u feel like u are in a few countries. sort of. haha. like a bit of australia at the waterfront, newzealand at queenstown and San Fransisco with the beaches and palm trees? food there was pretty good. guess the tour agency is quite good at planning food places. had chinese food almost every day. it's not too bad there. we had lobster lunch! very yummy! had abalone slices at one of the Chinese restaurants too! i loved the western food there. oh. haha. dont know whether u guys heard of this fast food place before, but it's called Wimpy. hahaha. so funny. not bad there also. okay. so basically, we went to johannesburg first. majority of the ppl living there are blacks. like A LOT. seriously!haha. got a bit of a shock. lol. went to some theme park to see gold mining. which is like what saw in new zealand. we reached SA at 6am and were pretty zonked out. too tired and everythg. then at night we went for Carnivore dinner! haha. yea. like the Carnivore and Brazil in singapore. but this time, it's game meat. zebra, crocodile, deer, chicken, ostrich, beef etc. but i think i prefer the one is singapore. the ones there.. some were pretty tough meat. cannot chew. hotel for the first two night were good. i liked it the most. think coz it's new. that was day one.
day two i cannot rmb but i think it was pretty boring. went to a diamond place? city tour. went to some museum to learn about the racial stuff in johannesburg. pretty boring. went past nelson mandela's first house. so cool. in GP tuition jocelyn alws makes us learn about him. quite interesting learn more about him here.
DAY 3. in case u are bored, u can just scroll to the end or sumtg. haha. photos another day. or u can add my sister on facebook to view the photos that are slowly uploading. we went to thelion's farm! haha.since they say it's pretty hard to spot lions in the safari's during the game drive that we were gnna have the following day, we were brought to the lion farm. got to cuddle lion cubs. and went into another enclosure with bigger lions to take photos. some of them started biting us. haha. like my dad's shirt has 2 holes in it. another girl got bitten in her leg. but not serious. so we went to this place called SUNCITY where we stayed for 2 nights. it's like sunway lagoon enlarged. many events are held there. there are like 5 hotels and some chalet like houses golfing tournaments, many beauty pagents etc. but it's quite old there. like ew. there are casinos there where i finally could step into one! haha. quite happy. played a bit of jackpot and obviously lost. quite meaingless and yea. confirm lose one. the jackpot money is A LOT. but what are the chances? haha. the workers in the hotel/SUNCITY went on strike. haha.so cool right. not as in banners and shouting and stuff. but the service was kinda bad there. they were requesting for higher pay as the guides told us. so the main thing for visiting SUNCITY was the safari game drives. there is a huge safari park thingie. like SUPER BIG. it's more of a natural place where they do not feed the animals and stuff. so basically we had 2 of the same game drives. one in the evening and one the next morning as more animals would be out in the mornings as it is cooler. so yea. WE GOT TO SEE WILD ANIMALS! africa has the BIG FIVE. namely, the elephant, lion rhino, buffalo and cheetah. no zebras or tigers.tigers are only found in asia. haha. yea. got to see zebra crossings (pun intended) herds of elephants really upclose, giraffes, deers, lions and rhinos. haha. as the park in huge, we traveled in jeeps and the rides lasted about 2 hrs plus each time. so basically its about luck and the sharp eye of the ranger to spot them for u. some are really far away and yea. cannot really take photo of it. but some are SUPER close. VERY INTERESTING! haha. yea. the 2nd day it rained after the game drive so we were quite lucky. it poured actually. so we slept in bed until 1plus to go for hightea at this super grand hotel in SUNCITY. u cannot go in to the hotel unless u are a guest there or u go for the high tea. haha. quite nice to experience the English setting there. when we came back from our teabreak, we went back to our hotel where my grandfather was sleeping. he then broke the news that a baboon went into their room. HAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAAH. there are actually baboons arnd SUNCITY and our tour guide was just sharing before we were there that baboons also broke into her room to steal her food. but never did we know that it wld happen to us. HAHAHAHHA. so yea.they ate kitkat and coffee powder. at first my grandfather thought it was the cleaners mopping the floor when he saw a black thing on the floor. but hahahah. it was a baboon. haha. their door wasnt closed. so yea. warner was really scared was very paranoid for the rest of the trip.
DAY FOUR. woke up at 3am -.- to leave suncity for the airport. reached cape town at 8am. cant rmb what we did after that but we did some shopping at the waterfront. since we couldnt go to table mountain. which is a huge landmark there. it's a mountain that flat like.. a table. exactly. yea. too windy and cloudy. cannot go ): went to the supermarket and my mother bought like one million boxes of rooibos tea. CRAZY. yea. it's the thing to buy here. it's got a unique taste and i heard it's good for the body. yea. went to an ostrich farm which was pretty interesting. had ostrich lunch! ostrich scrambled eggs and ostrich meat. had wine served there. sweet and nice! that was the start the wine madness.
day five. couldnt go to table mountain again as it was too windy/cloudy got day 4/5/6 a bit mixed up. let me think for awhile. we did a short cruise along the waterfront and more shopping there. had a very yummy lunch. had more wine during lunch. real cheap wine btw. wine there is like $4 a glass? singapore like what $15 at least? zz then we went wine tasting. more wine. one of the tour group uncle bought some limited edition wine and opened for all of us to try. more wine. then during dinner time he bought some champagne. more champagne. by the end of the day was kinda zonked out. most wine ive drank in my entire life. think the tour uncle won $$ playing shares or sumtg thats why he treated us. he also bought his wife a diamond at the diamond factory :O damn hungry now btw. have eaten since on the plane. which was arnd 3am and now it's 445pm. did some city tour aft that i think. had early dinner. we had many early dinners anyway. like one dinner was at 530? crazy.
day six. last day of tour and also, the highlight of the day. WE WENT TO TABLE MOUNTAIN! took a cable car up. clear skies! very beautiful up there! we went there early and luckily missed the huge crowds cuz of table mountain closing for 2 straight days. then we took a cruise to seal island! MANY MANY MANY SEALS! very cute(: then we travelled to a beach for lunch! seriously. it was about 17 degrees there plus very windy and ppl were suntanning and playing by the beach. haha. i was in a jacket hello? haha. had lobster lunch. yummy too! then we had some time and i walked into the water for awhile. erm. freezing cold hello? haha. dont know how they can swim in there. then we went for a VERY SCENIC drive along the coasts. ok i think the drive was before lunch. whatever. very beautiful beaches into the vast blue sea. altantic ocean. yea. so nice! went to a pengiun place. funny they have pengiuns there tho it's not that cold and they are there all the time. it was a very rushed day as u can tell. went to many places. im surprised i can rmb them. then we went to cape point. some lighthouse place. very nice view of the ocean as well. thennn. HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP... CAPE OF GOOOOOOOOD HOPE! hahahahaha. finally! took a lot of photos there. haha. very windy! had to climb the rocks to get to a nice spot. haha. so fun there! and yea. then fun ended there. blah blah blah. next day and we are home!
okay im done. i know some stuff i highlighted is like weird but yea. some were my fav parts of the trip(: so long! haha. gnna cook noodles now. raining now but so humid. i want fishball noodles and i feel like going back to sleep. alrights. some of my photos and some vids hopefully next. or mayb on facebook(: tmr is sunday. hmm.. doesnt feel like it. NEXT STOP. BANGKOKSU DUMBOS!!! MORE SHOPPING! really. shopping with my dad is the best. nothing beats it. stupid bernice bought some YSL perfume at the airport just now. $100. thanks. so unfair. haha. LOVES
